Earning a Credential in Supporting Engaged Faculty Development
An individual may earn this core competency credential by demonstrating an ability to effectively support and facilitate professional development related to community-engaged learning and research.
Applicants must demonstrate having earned, at minimum, a bachelor’s degree at an accredited institution of higher education.
Self Assessment on Key Competencies
At the beginning of the application process, individuals will be expected to complete a self-assessment in which they reflect on their own knowledge, skills, and aptitudes related to the key competencies in the area. The self-assessment is designed to help applicants decide whether they are ready to continue through the application process or whether they will want to pursue additional training, professional development opportunities, or practical experiences before continuing. For those encouraged to seek further preparation, Campus Compact will provide a vetted list of available training opportunities (as they become available) to support their learning and professional development. The Compact also provides a link to key readings and resources in the core competency area (see menu at left) for candidates to explore and learn from.
